One day, Bobby came to town...

A user on Facebook has been posting pictures that she purchased at a yard sale - all centered around my hometown of Auburn, NY. Amongst these jems was this pic:

This would be the US Senate campaign for the NY Senate seat in the 1964 midterms. That's the Auburn City Hall steps. I was -1. So cool, I just had to share.

...on edit - and a view form the rear:

I was 12 then, and that was only a few short months after his brother was murdered....

I followed his run for the presidency in 1968, but never got to see him in person.

Edited to add: That is a photo I have never before seen...perhaps there is a museum or website that would appreciate a copy of it.

I was active in politics from the age of 1. I was, for lack of a better term, a "prop" for my Dad's own campaign for School Board in '66. Hey... if it got him votes...

Mom had me stuffing envelopes for McGovern at age 7 - also for Hugh Carey in '74, Carter in '76 and '80, etc...

On edit - there's a second one as well - updated the OP.

Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walkin' up over the hill,
With Abraham, Martin and John."

First at K-State and then at KU. I was there in Lawrence for one of the great talks in US history. Here's a recording of it. I still miss him and grieve that the country was robbed of his compassionate leadership.
