Why aren't there any actions to compensate them?
It hurts my mind, when in any middle east discussion, a prominent US leader says we wont repeat the Iraqi mistake, Iraq war was an illegal war, etc
I don't think the US was naive when it dissolved the Iraqi Army after the war. I think it was a calculated step. And now, each day there are people who die in Iraq. Iraq is not a country any more.
So, is the US gonna compensate the Iraqis for this "mistake" ?

(75,480 posts)First the Bush administration needs to be charged with war crimes, all of them involved in it, and then justice can proceed from there. Right now there's as good a chance of that as ice skating in Hell, but I have hope that with a change of politicians in Washington, it might happen some day.

(12,448 posts)The dissolution of Iraq is a resounding success. We accomplished absolutely everything we set out to in the prosecution of the war itself, and by refusing to investigate or charge any of the major crimes committed, we've set precedent for future adventures made possible (inevitable) through the chaos we enhanced throughout the region.
