I'm embarrassed about this debacle too. The only consolation I've seen is that this tapping of Merkel's phone (nevermind the rest) started in 2002 when Drinky Dumbass (Bush) was King. I suspect it just went on from there unabated.

If the NSA employees along with there charismatic leaders where treated in a closed facility for the criminally insane and paranoid, the cost of their treatment would be a fraction of the budget they waste every year.

This type of spying on your allies is a problem.

But if the BND (German Intelligence) was able to hack Obama's phone don't you think they would do it.

Every spies on everyone. Every allies we just got caught.

Leahy has been introducing legislation to curb the NSA and hold it accountable for years and years. He'll be introducing more legislation within the next few days.

Don't you wish you had Senators like this?

How can the NSA/government even suggest that we must keep our Western European NATO allies under surveillance? Would our allies conspire to attack America? This is why the military and intelligence budgets need to be slashed before we even talk about cutting self funded social security. They are now doing shit simply because they can.

He told a Congressional hearing last week that in regard to the spying scandals swirling around his agency the answer is to muzzle the free press and simply outlaw reporting on the NSA.

The United States Constitution (which he swore to "Protect and defend&quot clearly has no presence in this guy's World!

if we can get away with it. Why not? Take the leaders of Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan. What we get out of spying on Merkel would be the question. Are we not sure we trust her? Why?
