Pa. boy dresses as vagrant for class, is suspended

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pennsylvania high school student who dressed as a homeless man for a drama assignment was so convincing that he fooled school officials — and ended up getting suspended for two days.

Senior Michael Bodomov (BAH'-dah-mohv) received an assignment last month to create and act as a character for a day at Mount Lebanon High School, just outside Pittsburgh.

Bodomov showed up at school dressed up in multiple coats, with ink smeared on his face and plastic bags for socks, and school officials didn't recognize him.

The situation escalated when Bodomov didn't immediately break character. Police were briefly called, and he was suspended for not identifying himself to officials.

My advice to new tenure track colleagues was "the administration is not fond of surprises".

We tried to build an idiot-proof, zero-tolerance-for-anything system, and what did we get? A more idiotic and intolerant class of overlord.

there's some kind of campaign to scour the nation for routine disciplinary actions that can be blown into "PC gone amok!" outrages. Yahoo News often helps amplify this stuff.

and wound up suspended for it. Or the people for whom he apparently was made an object lesson. All the kids learned was to watch out for stupid adults!
