FaceBook users who have right-wing heavy posting jerks

I have a semi-popular podcast, and a lot of folks "friend" me on my personal FB page. In the past I would accept with no questions asked.

But lately—or actually since the last election—I've tired of the right-wing blow-hard nonsense postings that I see these people posting, and I have begun unfriending them when I see a post I am fervently against.

Is anyone else in this situation? Do you think I'm wrong for this? I feel bad sometimes, but it makes me sick to see their posts.

Thanks!

Right wing blowhard nonsense posts. No need to invite others to poison your day.

You could just hide their feed. But if they are the type to overwhelm every post unfriending is necessary.

asked why I had done that. I said that since I loved her, I decided that to keep peace, it was better if he did not communicate with me. And we have remained civil since then. That in no way means I actually like him.

And I share a lot of things from liberal pages. So far I have not run into a major problem. Some even comment on the things I share or click on the like. Mostly though, t hey just ignore the stuff I post. As I stated, only one started posted a lot of rightwing crap or sent stuff to my posts. When she got nasty, I just erased her. No more problem.

that way you don't have to friend people, but they can read your posts if they want to. If they post right wing stuff on your posts, tho, this wouldn't solve the problem.

since you're doing a podcast and will have people interested in you for your work, you might just want to have a fb page for your podcasts, instead.

I do alot of political postings on my FB page which irritates my dear RW friends and I always challenge them on my facts which so far they can't refute....and when they post the typical foxnews talking points, I usually destroy in a few postings.

There will likely be some blowback against your podcast, but it sounds as if you have enough listeners who will understand. I'd understand.

Im much happier and have much more time now. Plus I don't have to read all the ridiculous RW posts and people over sharing in general.

Best FB quote--"Facebook is flypaper for narcissists". No offense meant to the non-narcissists, but you must admit the lion's share of FB-ers are.

Call me old-fashioned but I don't need to know what people are doing when I'm not with them.

They can tell me next time they see me.
