like Mitt did with the Romneycare rollout.
What that means to me (attn: "Liberally-biased media"
is that Mitt was actually dealing with the "opposition party" which chose to work with him ...
UNLIKE THE REPUBLICANS WITH OBAMA ...

(25,005 posts)It seems as though President Obama has been expected to be the one to compromise with/capitulate to the Republicans and be "bipartisan" but the Republicans have repeatedly been allowed to be as partisan as they have wanted to be while simultaneously complaining that President Obama is being partisan and divisive. It seems to be a no-win situation for him.

Single Payer- off the table.
In fact, everything health care related was "off the table."
Within no time, the ACA became "insurance reform" with no room at the table for any advocates for the people.
It was all what will cause the least damage to insurance companies.
A consensus? Well, it was a "coalition of the willing."
Willing to make more profits. If some peoples lives were improved as a by-product, well...ok. Ironically, (Kabuki theatre style, as usual) when Obamacare "rolled out", full of the health insurance gimme's, the repugnant party had to try and try to kill it.
At least it would fool the people into thinking Obamacare was "another give-a-way" to the poor.
Amazing that the masses of Americans are (by design) so stupid as to believe that anything, any improvement in their life, hasn't already been paid for, long ago, by propping up the elite and TPTB.
revolt and wake-up.
Although "they" have never been non-violent, hopefully we can.
