Sebelius is such a class act.

I live in Missouri and she was in Kansas but it's close. She was always a class act in Kansas.

I honestly don't know how those people live through one of those Congressional grillings. Those mostly men are just awful.

And she remained polite thru it all. That is just amazing to me. Hilary is pretty much the same way.

Kansas City Star had a good editorial about her this morning.

I checked a couple of KS papers yesterday and did not see anything positive on her.

Do you have a link to the KC Star editorial?

I talked to a friend in KS on Wednesday and although she is a Republican she was really pissed at the treatment and disrespect shown to the Secretary. Kansans tend to protect their own from outsiders.

that says, if you want the boys to respect you, mess up a good woman. I guess they think it plays well with the voters.

Can I say something honestly about that? I didn't realize until I was older just how much women are manipulated in this society. When I look back it just makes me sick sometimes. I see little girls like Miley Cyrus gyrating out there on stage and it just makes me want to cry.

To put it briefly, I ask people two questions:

1) Is she from here?
2) Is she still here?

The answers are 'no' and 'no'. She is not a native Kansan, but she moved here and entered politics, until she reached the pinnacle - Governor, elected twice.

Then she left. She left to go to the 'next level' of politics, of course.

This is all fine and more power to her.

But what did she leave behind? Well, her LT Governor was an ex-republican...he had actually once been head of the gop in Kansas...turned democrat. He was completely ineffective, finished her term, and quit politics.

So what happened during the following election? For starters, I'd bet good money that 9 out of 10 people can't even remember the name of the D candidate. The party was left hollowed out after Sebelius' leaving, her AG being embroiled in a sex scandal, and her lame LT Governor quitting. Add to that....I don't really remember a strong and vocal endorsement of the D candidate from Sebelius. And what did we get - Sam Brownback. Two years after a twice elected D governor leaves office, the party is so weak that Sam Brownback gets elected?!? Look him up. There is nothing that Scott Walker has done that Brownback hasn't done better. And guess what - even though he is very unpopular, he will probably be re-elected.

Anyway, as a Kansan, I'm left feeling a little dirty, a little used. She came here...got what she needed out of us in terms of prestige and position...and left us without looking back.

That's hardball politics, I know. But I've still got a bad taste in my mouth over it.
