There are plenty of liberals who find the idea unappealing at best. There are also many who are so concerned about the success of the ACA that they feel any discussion of alternatives at this point is counter-productive and should be silenced.

I think the ACA will succeed - to the extent it was designed - and find the excessive concern about what can and cannot be discussed rather odd and creepy. I also disagree with the constant finger-pointing. The issue isn't identifying the problem, it is coming up with solutions. I'm not an expert, and don't pretend to have a solution - but I do know that nothing can be addressed as long as the conversation can't get past who is to blame.
