(17,064 posts)Its logical to assume Obama retained them because he approved of the job they did. If Obama didn't approve of their work, or felt they were going rogue, then he had every opportunity to replace them. Sorry, after 4+ years I think Obama now owns it.

Why wouldn't the nation's leading advocate of Hope and Change keep on such a successful executive in order to keep a firm hand on the wheel of the NSA?

(21,786 posts)You could at least get the adjective right. And the answer would be "he's serving the country". He's an active-duty military officer (a four star general), not a political appointee. His predecessor served as director of the NSA for most of Bush's first term, and was appointed under the Clinton administration.
