Health Insurance Corporations provide lousy plans. So what if they cancel them?

Everyone's in a tizzy over the cancellation of policies and screaming that Obama lied...well someone has to be blamed I guess.

But are people fully satisfied with the health insurance policies they have now? I'm not. Mine is company provided and quite frankly, if I were to have a major illness I'd be screwed.

People don't like change, and even though they're shelling out hundreds of dollars a month for crappy coverage, they are resistant and panic over losing the devil they know.

I think this will all work out eventually, and move us that much closer to a single payer system that provides full comprehensive coverage with a primary focus on prevention, completely independent from employment.

ACA is the first volley in rebuilding the entire system, which must be deconstructed first.

Anyone who thinks the transition to a better system will go smoothly is a fool.

Oh - and it was known that people might possibly lose their plans back in 2009, so this shouldn't be a surprise.

Political volleying and game playing aside, real people want healthcare and something they can afford. If there had been a policy out there with decent coverage they could afford - they would have gotten it

There are kinks to work out and the launch was awful, but big ins. won't cancel everyone willy nilly or they'll lose profits. They're angry and canceling now, but I think eventually will play ball. It's just going to take some time.

I have United Healthcare and have a 'good' plan through employment; $230 per month individual. But if I were to have a catastrophic illness, I'd go bankrupt.

but have not looked at all of them to know if that is true.
Interesting.

Btw....the health insurance provided by the new Act is provided by "Health Insurance Corporations".
