But... but... the Tea Party, Republicans, media, and others just say we need to cut the safety net and then everyone will find a job, the unemployment rate will plunge, prosperity for all, the streets will be paved with gold, and more.

And yet the only thing I'm seeing is more people, a lot of people who have jobs, wondering how they are going to eat, isn't that weird?
