(36,412 posts)It gains a minute a week in summer and looses a minute a week in winter so I suspect it may keep perfect time in the bigger scheme of things. How cool is that?

(90,633 posts)... to just overnight being utterly black at the same time of day. My computer adjusts itself automatically, but I really wish the powers that be would abolish Daylight Savings Time.
I'm glad Hawai'i resisted. They're so close to the equator that day/night doesn't vary that much from season to season. Every so often someone gets the bright idea that Hawai'i should align itself with the Mainland for business purposes -- I still remember the newspaper article illustrating the problem with that idea with photos of kids waiting for the school bus in the pitch dark.
