17. It was interesting - in a lot of the paired photos, it was hat on while

standing and hat off while sitting. I wonder if they did that deliberately because that's how these guys would be seen by cops on the beat, or if the subjects just did that naturally because you always took your hat off when sitting...

who lived a transgender life as "Harry Crawford." That must have been extremely difficult in those days.
