I have a question regarding immigration.....

I've heard people say that immigration reform will be good for the economy. I am pro immigration reform but don't know how it will help our economy. Can someone enlighten me? How will that work? Thanks.

Blatantly admit to being anti-third world, anti-foreigner, anti-humanist.

Although it is okay for people in Oregon to resent Californians who move to their state in large numbers, as that wave of immigration causes congestion, housing prices to rise, governmental sevice costs to explode, etc, if a Californian gets tired of the hundreds of thousands of people that enter California, each and every year, and add to the congestion, housing price crisis etc, why we are the lowest of the low to have any concerns at all.

Its not that I don't have compassion for these people - because I do

I just don't like when people of different origins are used against each other to the benefit of Corporations and the Wealthy Elite.

Why did we enter into NAFTA without Environmental and Workers Rights clauses added into that agreement. Why are they trying so hard to circumvent the Long Shoremen's Union with Mexican Trucks.

The same reason they don't want to talk about the deplorable conditions the Wealthy Elite (and now drug cartels) rule those countries into

We have millions if illegals working in this country at suppressed wages and paying taxes.. Receiving no benefit. Its a win for employers and taxing districts. As many illegals are Hispanic the fear of any type of amnesty program would add more democratic voters. Something abhorrent to GOP candidate. Others fear guest worker status...but they are working as it is. See point one.

The Supreme Court challenge of Calif's Prop 187 ruled it is unconstitutional to deny benefits to people living within the State.

So they receive Education, Welfare, Medicaid, and every other Federal Benefit

AND another thing

Please look up the State Dept. H2B Visa program

This is the program for Guest Workers that has been in effect since the early 70s. What the NEW Guest Worker program does is cut required benefits to these workers of Housing, Medical, and Fair Wages

or dreaming.

Do you know any undocumented workers, and if so, how many of them dare announce their status to seek benefits?

You seem quick to interject your talking points but lack taking time to read information other then your own opinion

You do realize the "Reform" they are talking about would Undo most of the benefits they are currently entitled to.

We need a New approach to enforcement

I miss reading you in fiction but I've caught some of your posts around DU.

I'm in Myrtle Beach for the month of November with one of my daughters. Just hanging out watching the ocean from our balcony. But I have already read a Harlan Coben novel and have started a David Baldacci. Haven't been able to do much reading at home, not because I don't have time. I just can't relax enough. I hope that changes. Weird, I know.

If it's not family stuff, it's the killings and shootings, or the politics, politicians, or the shutdown, or ACA, or the weather.

I get one page into a book and I'm already missing something in my plane of interest.

The only thing that relaxes me any more is History 2 and at times it makes me nervous, or worse yet, sleepy _

Take care, dear one....
