Religious Right & GOP Conspire To Drive Women Out Of The Workforce. Women Held Hostage.
Anti women efforts abound by the marriage of the religious right and GOP to drive women out of the workforce. As if stopping the ERA was not enough the new effort to take away all reproductive choice, make divorce difficult or illegal, establish covenant marriage, fight against equal pay and other initiatives is an effort to marginalize women to the point that they have no choice but remain in the home or find a breadwinner. By demonizing careers toward women and limiting their choices to only menial and low paying jobs their only choice will be to depend on a man.
The GOP and religious right still believes that women should stay firmly cemented in the home. The war on SNAP is just another phase in this war on women. The role of the church is to command women to stand by men as the king of the household in everything including voting with the man. For women who refuse to comply it is about taking away the vote. Single women with children are essentially painted as amoral prostitutes unworthy of assistance. The role of the modern welfare program i.e. the RW ios to force women get married. By denying them a path to a decent job leaves them no other options.
This cynical view of women is further complicated by the GOP and the churches to fight against laws that protect women and children against domestic violence. They view the abuse of women as proper corrective action against unwanted behavior. The old mantra "spare the rod spoil the child" applies to spouses as well.
