For those stretching their food dollars. You can get free cereal at Hy-Vee
I hope this post is appropriate. I figured with SNAP benefits being cut and food prices
so high, this post might help others extend their grocery dollars.
Hy-Vee is a Midwest-based grocery chain and if you shop there you can get FREE (or VERY cheap)
cereal there. You don't need coupons from the Sunday paper. Here is how you do it.
This is a weekly special--but THE AD ENDS TODAY (MONDAY). So TODAY is the last day to do this deal.
Cheerios are $1.88 (Store prices vary, but I got Chocolate Cheerios, Plain and also Apple Cinnamon Cheerios for this price). In the Hy-Vee ad, there is a coupon for "$4 off 4 General Mills Cereals."
This takes the price down to .88 cents a box. When you go through check-out, buying the 4 General
Mills cereals triggers a Catalina coupon to come out. The cashier will hand it to you. The coupon is
"$4 off your next order". You'll take this coupon and use it on your next 4 cereals.
So, take that $4 coupon--plus cut out another "4 off 4 General Mills Cereals" coupon from the ad. Combined you have $8. Buy 4 more cereals (which total $7.52). The cereal is FREE. Plus, you'll keep generating those $4 Catalina coupons from the register. You can keep doing this.
Happy Shopping.
