(as if we didn't already know that):
Another nugget about Mitt Romney's vice presidential selection process from the latest installment of Mark Halperin and John Heilemann's "Game Change" franchise, excerpted over the weekend in TIME:
Punctuality mattered to Romney. Christies lateness bugged him. Mitt also cared about fitness and was prone to poke fun at those who didnt. (Oh, theres your date for tonight, he would say to male members of his traveling crew when they spied a chunky lady on the street.) Romney marveled at Christies girth, his difficulties in making his way down the narrow aisle of the campaign bus. Watching a video of Christie without his suit jacket on, Romney cackled to his aides, Guys! Look at that!
According to Halperin and Heilemann, Romney's decision to pass over Christiewho was given the code name "Pufferfish" by the campaignwent beyond childish giggling, however.

(37,364 posts)MSNBC just showed him kind of sucking up to Christie by suggesting him as an acceptable candidate for 2016. The man is tone deaf and clueless. He needs to just go away.

But seriously, Christie's corruption would have brought investigators out. As they say, where there's smoke there's fire; if the man Romney chose is this bad, how corrupt is Romney? A little real journalism would have revealed Romney's role in collapsing the economy.

(21,056 posts)doesn't this stuff just really show how vile people like that are? sickening... the "where'd you buy these cookies, 7-11?" to that supporter showed how petty he could be directly to people, but these behind the scenes things, really show the person! like the 47% comment!
