General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHas any other non-Virginia resident gotten a call from the Cuccinelli campaign?
I have. It started last week.
Someone called wanting to talk to my son. Said they were from the Cuccinelli for Governor campaign.
I explained my son was 15 and we lived in Kansas.
They called again over the weekend. Very bizarre.
If this is the way they run his campaign, what would it be like if he were governor?

(23,156 posts)that still has a Virginia area code because you used to live there.
How interesting. If they call again, engage them in discussion and try to find out how it is they have your cell phone number.
added on edit:
Recently I put my son's email address on something, so he'll probably start getting emails he never thought he signed up for. But it was science connected, which he loves. Anyway, my thinking is someone gave the campaign your phone number perhaps as a joke.

Just checked the area codes for Virginia--not a one even comes close to ours!
Bizarre. If they should call again I'll ask them how they got our contact information...

(42,685 posts)The phone and email lists that campaigns use can be pretty unreliable.
In fact, a few weeks ago, I got an email from David Axlerod on behalf of the McAuliffe campaign that urged me to contribute even though I don't live in Virginia. But, in fact, I've never been registered to vote anywhere other than Virginia.
There are a thousand and one reasons not to vote for Cooch. Misdirected fundraising and GOTV efforts are near the bottom since they inflict all campaigns to a degree.
