Fighting the GOP is one thing, fighting your own party (Dems) is damn sad.

Been wondering what the heck the deal is in New Jersey with Dems obviously going to vote for Christie.

Then the following paragraph smacked me in the forehead with a thud..."duh, I shoulda known"...

-snipped from Firedoglake, emphasis added, as if it were needed.

"Governor Christie is heavily favored to win re-election. His opponent, State Senator Barbara Buono, is not only facing Christie and his stuttering admirers in the press but also the machinery of the state Democratic Party who fears her progressive agenda would threaten state and local business dealings that Christie has happily looked the other way on."

"I do not belong to an organized political party, I am a Democrat."

But this sounds to me like the patriarchy & the "old boy network" in action.

Democrats outnumber Republicans in NJ by 700,000. So if he wins Democrats will have voted for him in large numbers.

the possible reason Dems were going to vote for Christie. Which I do not understand.

8. I saw a poll which said "only" 23% of Democrats support Cristy but 61% Independents do

and 93% Republicans do. I suspect there are more Independents than either Republican or Democrat.

Can someone from New Jersey shine some light on this?
