Yes it is only one household, but that makes it 3 to 0! Enough of the tea party butt kissers. Enough of the confederate flag worshippers. Enough of the gay bashers. Enough of the plastic insert rapists during ultrasound.
Come on Virginia, smash the Koch bros. puppets!

(49 posts)Of the Rahm Emanuel variety winning. Why didn't the Democrats run a Democrat in the primaries? Maybe they did, and just spent their time and money on the "Democrat" instead.
Rightward we march, a slow Democratic Party death.

(28,151 posts)nonsense is really counter-productive. First keep the Nut-job out of office and then work leftward from there. Why is that so very difficult for some to grasp?

(49 posts)I didn't realize it was poor form to comment on the quality of the candidate so long as the "D" is next to the name.
It won't happen again. I certainly don't want to be accused of being a Sarah Palin.
Yay! My team's winning! BOO-YA!

(28,278 posts)I'm as much a far-lefty as anybody breathing--I'd love to have all of our candidates WIN as far-lefties, and govern accordingly! It's not a perfect world, so I sometimes have to hold my nose a little bit and support candidates whose best quality is that they aren't bat-shit crazy Tea-Partiers. I agree with you that McAuliffe is a real stinker in some respects, but when the alternative is Cucinelli, well, there's no question who I would support. Feel free to criticize candidates as not being left enough, as I and many others do, but when the rubber meets the road, we have to support the ones who are the least imperfect. We welcome your voice, and anything you can do to help us push our country more in the direction we want it to go. I do think that letting the perfect become the enemy of the good will consign our party to the same relevance to political discourse as the Tea-Tantrum crowd if we take it too far. Once we get a "D" in office, by all means, push them toward the left as much as possible. But we have to get elected in order to govern. If those we elect, don't govern as we want, then we seek out those who will. That's the bittersweet joy of democracy.

I think McAul is a sleaze and have little respect for him, but he is about 5000 times better than his opponent and because of his win thousands and thousands more will be elligible for help from the ACA. If he changes that rule.
