Okay, this really pisses me off. (850 KOA defending Rush)

(3-5-12) 850 KOA is committed to providing its listeners with access to a broad range of opinion and commentary without condoning or agreeing with the opinions, comments or attempts at humor expressed by on-air talent. We respect the right of Mr. Limbaugh, as well as the rights of those who disagree with him, to express those opinions. The contraception debate is one that sparks strong emotion and opinions on both sides of the issue. Last week, in an attempt at absurdist humor to illustrate his political point, Mr. Limbaugh used words that unfortunately distracted from the message he was trying to convey. We believe he did the right thing on Saturday, and again today on his radio show, by expressing regret for his choice of words and offering his sincere and heartfelt apology to Ms. Fluke.

KOA is a very powerful AM station in Denver. I actually used to listen to some of their programming (they carry the Rockies games), but stopped when they just got too right wing for me.

I intend to "contact" them with a big piece of my mind. I thought some others here might want to do the same.

Nobody is saying that vile human being can't say whatever the hell he wants to say. We just don't think he's entitled to prime space on our public airwaves to say it. And if he can't make as much money as he did formerly because he's such a vile human being, well, as some people are wont to say, words mean things and actions have consequences.

On Tuesday, Premiere Networks (Clear Channel's radio syndication arm) released a statement saying it was "committed to providing its listeners with access to a broad range of opinion and commentary without condoning or agreeing with the opinions, comments or attempts at humor expressed by on-air talent."

"We respect the right of Mr. Limbaugh, as well as the rights of those who disagree with him," Premiere said. His "attempt at absurdist humor to illustrate his political point ... used words that unfortunately distracted from the message he was trying to convey."

I have read Rush Limbaugh’s “apology” and it shows he doesn’t even understand what he did, or he thinks his listeners are stupid enough to buy it. Apparently KOA management is as well. It was not a “choice of words”, it was a three day blitz of hate and sickness against a young woman exercising her rights as an American. What kind of mind can even conjure up images such as Rush portrayed, and do you want such a person doing so on your radio station?Publicrelations@premrad.comPublicrelations@premrad.com; Apparently so...but I don’t want to listen anymore. So goodbye KOA, goodbye Rockies. I’ll listen on MLB.com on the opponents station.

Rush Limbaugh is pure hate, and I for one am tired of him leading the discourse of this country.
