ADL’s Foxman: U.S. Seen As ‘Weak’ On World Stage

American wariness of foreign military involvement is making the United States seem “weak and retreating,” warned the Anti-Defamation League’s Abraham Foxman.

“Make no mistake about it. If what we are seeing now is the beginning of a deep change in American foreign policy, it will be bad for the Jews,” said Foxman, the ADL’s national director, at a conference Oct. 31 in New York marking the group’s 100th anniversary.

“The combination of America’s unsatisfactory involvement in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, together with the financial crisis at home, have generated a broader opposition to American military involvement overseas,” he said.

Citing among other things the recent congressional resistance to authorizing a strike on Syria, Foxman said, “America is being seen as weak and retreating.”

Cheney and bush started something we couldn't finish and the entire world knows it.

But I'd be surprised if Abe wasn't sitting in the front row cheering when bush opened his yap and got all macho about bombing Iraq.

Most of "the Jews" as he describes them, voted for and supported President Obama and his message and goals for peace in the middle east.

What some see as "weak," others see as "anti-war."

There IS a difference. Why does the US have to be engulfed in a war at all times to not be seen as "weak," when other countries are not called "weak," when they are not at war and show no desire to start or take part in one?
