Heard that both the House and Senate are holding hearings on Military Sequestration.

Where were the hearings about the Sequestration cuts to Head Start, job losses, low-income housing aid, research, and cancer treatment under Medicare?

Sequestration has had a profound effect on our efforts to prepare units for future contingency operations,” Gen. Raymond Odierno told the Senate Armed Services Committee in his written testimony. “The continued implementation of the reduced discretionary caps, beginning in [fiscal] 2014, will have drastic impacts across all aspects of Army readiness in training, equipment sustainment and modernization, military and civilian manning, and installation support.”

But as he closed his opening statement, Odierno made clear he disagrees with analysts and some lawmakers who believe the Pentagon budget — nearly $600 billion with war funding — can absorb more cuts.

And inflict chained CPI and pretend that pays for more guns'ammo'death, too!
In any event, the military will gets its money, the vote will be bipartisan, the president will sign it, and sequestration as applied to the poor will continue on its merry way.
I have said this before - the entire government is madly in love with the sequestration thing - they can exempt big contributors, and then wring their hands and shrug about what happens to the little people.

We've already blown way too much on the military for the past 30 years. If they aren't ready by now, they'll never be ready.

They've got so much shit that they're giving away all sorts of expensive items to the local police departments, stuff that's barely been used or not used at all. The very idea that we should let some people go hungry or without nutricious food and restore all the money taken in the sequester from the military nauseates me. It's time to help the American people, many of whom are barely making it as it is.

We really need to clean house in Congress. The corruption has gotten so bad that no one gets help in this country unless they have a lobbyist in Washington. It was never supposed to be like this.
