Banning Abortion Endangers Women's Health (47,000 die yearly from unsafe abortions)

How is it that they can get away with calling something that results in the needless deaths of at least 47,000 women per year "pro-life"?

"Well, that is God's punishment for their fornication and Abortion!"

My response, "if that's true, why doesn't god punish child molesters, rapist, and murders this harshly"?

"God" has nothing to do with it. It's pure ignorance and self-righteous meanness that drives the anti-abortion crowd.

The (Todd Akin and others like him at least ) "legitimate rape' claims are based on the flawed findings of a Nazi anatomist who dissected own friends & had women raped 4 experimental purposes. Seriously.

but I once read that something like half of all beds in maternity wards in Brazil were occupied by women recovering from illegal abortions.

If you talk to doctors who were around before Roe v Wade (a rapidly dwindling minority at this point) you'll hear exactly what it was like when abortions were not legal in this country. Those who oppose a woman's right to determine her own life have the simple, silly, and totally wrong idea that if abortions are illegal women won't have them. Nope. But women will die and be maimed if they're not safe and legal.

or maybe "pro-forced human incubator"

to the DUers who use the term incubator. It's so true, and oddly enough I had never really heard it put that way until just recently.

Some said "incubator with legs" and that really hit me.

7. Women are not truly human beings in that worldview

The very sad aspect of this is women who don't see themselves or other women as worthy of being seen as full human beings, with a purpose in life, and the freedom to choose to live it. I always wonder what kind of a life such women have had to live to twist themselves into that knot. And the kind of lives they have to live each day to stay that twisted.

To them, women are breeding cows and little else. Incubators. Breeding stock.
