It does, actually - that the numbers for solar are too small to really mean much.

Classic abuse of the statistics of small numbers right there.

And will probably be the most encountered for of green energy in the next couple decades as it becomes much more affordable.
I read an article a few years ago about solar paint that could be used on both exterior and interior portions of buildings to maximize output.
