Or something happens to Obama and Biden becomes president, which is much less likely.

Are you assuming that the Democratic candidate in 2016 will be a woman and that she will win the election? The Republican candidate will almost certainly be a white male.

That's what "in all likelihood" means.

I'm not that optimistic about the Democrat winning, as of now.

Let's face it. We could have had a really great white male but...he had that MALE weakness of not being able to keep it in his pants so he blew the whole thing. Two greats...Kennedy and Clinton, even Jefferson and more before them. There are a lot less women in congress but how many of them have had affairs/scandal?

White males can be good leaders but that isn't enough...they also need focus.

Increase the number of women in congress and you will likely get more Elizabeth Warrens. But you will also have more Michele Bachmanns.

The reason you dont see women as corrupt is because there are not as many women in congress. So the corruption does not target women as much. But to suggest a woman would never take a kickback or accept illegal campaign money is completely ridiculous and you know it. Female politicians are just as capable as men to becoming corrupt and being involved in scandal.

Believe it or not, women commit crime too.

It will very much depend on who runs. Of course there are going to be more women and minority candidates following in Obama's footsteps. The demographics have changed wildly since the 2004 election and will continue to in the future.

I would never vote for gender or race as a first priority. I would look at the candidate and their ideas, what my stances are and how well they match up. If it was between two fairly equal candidates then that might make a difference. Personally the thought never even crossed my head when voting for Obama.

One would hope that it will start tilting sooner. We have already seen one big breakthrough. I am absolutely positive there will be a woman president in my lifetime in the US.

By the way, this kind of a funny off-topic thing. Korea which is one of the most male dominate societies in the world elected a woman president (ugh, granted she is a conservative).

When we get a gay president...my guess it will be a white male. Same with Jewish, atheist, unmarried, etc....baby steps.

When we get a black atheist single lesbian who has had an abortion....okay...that'll never happen...

43 years ago we elected the first Catholic president and back then people worried he would be influenced too much by the church. Of course the critics were proved wrong.

5 years ago we elected the first African-American president and all kinds of things were said about him (too many to mention). Again the critics have been proved wrong.

As I said, I don't think the demographics of America will prohibit a white male from running and winning whether he is gay, Jewish, atheist or not.

I think a single president (regardless of race or gender) would be a very interesting thing.

non-militarized police departments, flying without being considered a suspected terrorist, strong, American investigative journalism that holds governmental abuse of power to account, or an expectation that government has a stake in preventing the destitution of millions as they reach old age.

I worry that the new generation has no clue what has been stolen from us. The One Percent depend on that.

as hosts or reporters because their voices, for the most part, are more pleasant to listen to....to me.

This might follow over to the presidency for a lot of people. Females who know the language don't all have the knack of making a speech as often as a president must, and some, when given a microphone, sound terrible..some...not all.

Warren sounds great.

Sounds like presumptive claptrap to me.

Alan Grayson is a white male, as is Bernie Sanders. Either would be a FAR better President than that 1%er woman you are presuming the Dems will nominate.
