Controversial sounding statement, but I can prove it.

In many American states access to reproductive health services is curtailed and restricted. (e.g., Kansas)

In no American states are such services too available.

Thus there are currently fewer abortions in the USA than there should be, insofar as some women who would—all things being equal—opt to terminate a pregnancy do not do so for practical reasons.

If somebody was trying to say that abortion should be rare without being effectively anti-choice they could say that unwanted pregnancies should be rare... or (hang onto your political hats) unwanted live births should be rare. Now then, if you said, "unwanted live births should be rare," that would sound TERRIBLE, right? It means exactly the same thing, but it sounds terrible. Well, guess what? Saying abortion should be rare also sounds terrible. So why say it? There is a reason some Democratic politicians say abortion should be rare, and it is to appeal to (weakly) anti-choice persons. And it is good politics, but don't pretend it is not what it is. Politics to appeal to weakly anti-choice voters.

3. It is because some really do feel abortion is something

they have a right to control. They find it to be something that is icky and shouldn't occur hardly ever.

Whether it be judging the woman for not using contraception, or not using it correctly.

It's really simple. Just keep ones nose out of others healthcare choices, and what they do with their body.
