No matter what was tossed their way, they fight. They are women, and they are so very strong.

And then there are the 40 or so open carry gun owners worried about restrictions on the 2nd amendment. That picture is a poster for gun control. As the 4 moms have lunch and discuss gun control and recipes. They were stalked. What will happen when a bunch of unarmed citizens broach their meetings or gun shows. As in crowds, traffic jams with no intention of buying.

Glad you're here! That picture is stunning, isn't it! Is this what sharron angle had in mind when she mentioned "Second Amendment remedies" - as what was an option for gun lovers since they couldn't prevail at the ballot box as often as they wanted?

Good to have you with us! They make me proud to be female! Prevailing over such astounding adversity. And with such grace and total class. Their very presence speaks so eloquently.

and young Pakistani women’s rights activist Malala Yousafzai, right?

Maybe not everyone here knows who they are. I didn’t until I right-clicked on the picture and saw “abbymalala” included in the URL, and spent some time Googling “abby” and “malala.”

Yes, admirable people, those two.

Both gun victims shot in the head; Rep. Giffords, on Jan 8, 2011 in Tucson AZ in an assassination attempt by Jared Lee Loughner, a paranoid schizophrenic. The shooting played a major role in the 2012 presidential elections because former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin had put Rep. Giffords in a "crosshairs" photo in an ad for targeted political action that was widely criticized for inciting gun violence by mentally unstable individuals. Thirteen others were injured and six others were killed including Federal judge John Roll.

Rep. Giffords had to re-learn how to walk, speak, read and write, and recovered sufficiently to appear at and briefly address the Democratic National Convention in September 2012 where Obama was nominated for his 2nd term. She retired in Jan 2012 in order to focus on her rehabilitation and gun control laws.

It would be helpful if posters would explain a bit about pictures they post. Google isn't always our friend.

and groaned, bemoaning the ills of the world for the rest of their lives. Instead they are leading the charge on two incredibly important fronts -- women's education and gun control.

I love them both but Malala is something extra wonderful indeed.

To have that much courage and conviction at such a young age is pretty rare.
