Renisha McBride shot in face from distance , Shooter "devastated"

i really don't get why people shoot guns not knowing what they are shooting at . just because you hear something you shoot ? you are scared so you shoot ?

<A lawyer for the man who shot 19-year-old Renisha McBride on his front porch last week said the homeowner is devastated over the shooting.

The 54-year-old man has not been arrested. A review of the warrant request in the case is underway as the Wayne County Prosecutor's office gathers information from Dearborn Heights police.

The owner of the Outer Drive home where she was killed claims he fired his shotgun accidentally after being alerted by loud noises at his door.

"There was a lot of banging. It was a lot of noise. And it didn't sound like just knocking," Bloomfield Hills attorney Cheryl Carpenter told Michigan Radio.

"This is a tragedy for everybody involved, and the homeowner is completely torn up. He realizes another person's life was taken. It was a young woman. And he is devastated by that fact.">

Just another indication that black lives are less valuable according to law enforcement.

Imagine if it was a black man who shot and killed a young white 19-year-old female.

He would be arrested instantly.

"There was a lot of banging. It was a lot of noise. And it didn't sound like just knocking,"

What was the nature of the "noise"?

A person's life was lost due to Negligence. If i create an auto accident due to negligence and a person dies I would be prosecuted and most likely jailed for at the very least manslaughter.. Because it is Negligence with a gun there will probably be no accountability..

Claiming fear or accidental discharge didn't work as an excuse

I wish I could have a fraction of her strength and composure.

A horrible story.

Even if we accept that "he fired his shotgun accidentally," that simply means that he's a carelessly murderous asshole instead of a deliberate murderous asshole.

Nobody just shoots at random noises without knowing what they are. He must have at least known she was a person. Total bullshit. And I agree that if he'd been black and she'd been white, he would absolutely 100 times over have been arrested immediately and he'd know he didn't have a chance in hell.
