It has made DU much more enjoyable to read.
Also it has dramatically cut down on the chances of me getting a post hidden.
Trust me some threads just aren't worth the trouble.
Carry on.

(21,020 posts)positively 100% true.
I honestly don't know why more people don't take advantage of the great tools we have at our fingertips, intended to make the daily DU experience better.
I can't count the number of times I've gone to write out a reply in a particularly contentious thread and backed out, knowing it's just not worth the trouble. Often, it's a total waste of time and energy.
"Trash thread" is the best thing since sliced bread. Can't waste time and energy on what I can't see...

(55,146 posts)But for some reason that doesn't work the way I want it to.
true!
There are some things I just don't want to see. Like animal or child abuse, etc.
Keyword trashing is excellent.

(26,582 posts)I was tired of seeing the monthly multiple photo thread, multiple daily (it seemed) toon threads, and any thread that says "caption this!!!!" There's other topics I have hidden too.
I love trash by key word.
