November 12, 2013|By Anthony Man, Sun Sentinel
By next spring, readers of political books will be able to bookend their collections, with offerings by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz on the left and former Congressman Allen West on the right.
West, the tea party Republican from Palm Beach Gardens, on Tuesday began the marketing tease designed to increase interest in his forthcoming book by unveiling the title, Guardian of the Republic, but little more.
Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chairwoman from Weston, has been on the talk show circuit in recent weeks, promoting her recently published For the Next Generation. The subtitle forGuardian of the Republic is An American Ronins Journey to Faith, Family and Freedom.
For the many who undoubtedly dont know, dictionary.com defines a ronin as a lordless samurai, especially one whose feudal lord had been deprived of his territory."

So the self-proclaimed "Guardian of the Republic" (whose "guarding" of our country included an incident where he shot off a gun next to an unarmed detainee's head to get erroneous information out of him) is also an ancient marauding Japanese mercenary?
Then there's the LOLworthy cover. Which features EAGLES!!! and FLAGS!!! and MOTORCYCLES!!!
Poor, poor Michelle Hickford, whomever she happens to be. Imagine having to be stuck in a room with that man for hours upon hours listening to his insanity knowing you are going to have to somehow put it onto page form.

That's literally twice in 5 minutes I read a post of yours that made me laugh out loud. I'm definitely going to stalk you now and watch for your posts.

(28,979 posts)"According to the Bushido Shoshinshu (the Code of the Samurai), a samurai was supposed to commit seppuku (also "hara kiri" ritual suicide) upon the loss of his master. One who chose not to honor the code was "on his own" and was meant to suffer great shame. The undesirability of rōnin status was mainly a discrimination imposed by other samurai and by daimyo, the feudal lords." --wiki

(43,164 posts)He'll run for President in 2016, because he has a cadre of small but very vocal followers who insist he is the "next George Washington" (their words, not mine) and that he is presidential material and conservatism's next and final hope.
Long before the first primary, there will be a Herman Cain-like two-week spike in attention towards him, and he'll rise towards a near plurality lead in the Republican field. Then he'll start opening his mouth and say something insanely stupid, and his poll numbers will drop back to 1%-2% and there they'll stay. Despite this, West will stubbornly remain in the Republican field, despite never winning any states or picking up delegates, and possibly refusing to endorse Rubio or Christie or whomever the Republican nominee is unless his demands are met. Finally, he'll throw in a half-assed endorsement after he's promised a non-primetime speaking slot at the GOP convention, which no one bothers to watch.
After that, he'll be stuck pretty much for the remainder of his life doing five minute "Fox News contributor" spots on "Fox and Friends" and occasionally guest hosting for Rush Limbaugh whenever Rush is out buying Oxycot--err, I mean, sick.
