I'm afraid this is going to cause an even larger mess.
I've been pointing out the issue noted below, only to be accused of hoping the ACA fails. Dealing in reality isn't appreciated by a large number of folks here.
"This means that the insurance companies have 32 days to reprogram their computer systems for policies, rates, and eligibility, send notices to the policyholders via US Mail, send a very complex letter that describes just what the differences are between specific policies and Obamacare compliant plans, ask the consumer for their decision and give them a reasonable time to make that decision and then enter those decisions back into their systems without creating massive billing, claim payment, and provider eligibility list mistakes.
All by January 1."

Like I said (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024033119), the very people, including Ezra Klein's blog, who were demanding a "fix" are now pointing out what a mess it creates.
Too many friggin saboteurs.

So here we go again: President Obama has once again acquiesced to the demands of the Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats, to the detriment of his own policy initiative -- and now, surprise, surprise, he's taking criticism for it from many of the same players.
Too bad no one could have seen that coming -- including our politically savvy, 11-dimensional-chess-playing President.
Your post clearly demonstrates why Obama's cave-in on this was a bad move. Thanks.

(20,600 posts)I'm thinking they might delay other parts too, and it may be up to the next president and congress in 2016 as to the ultimate fate of Obamacare.
