Anyone know what this title is about?

Does anyone else get upset about minimalist tittilating titles like:

- What I'm so upset about
- A few minutes ago
- Look here!
- Pretty (awful) pictures
- Really important!

Of course some of these are stuck on the site by some well-known DU authors.

Still there's no excuse for not putting enough info in the title to let people know if they should click on the article ---- unless you're just click-mongers.

... so you post an ambiguously titled OP to complain?

Where is Meta when we need it?

would I raise this issue?

I've been taught to put as much differentiating content in a title/subject/headline as possible to enable quick scanning. I don't agree that we should be encouraged to do click-thrus to find out WTF the poster meant.

I also know that those click-thrus are a way for a site to measure interest levels. Some more social media analysis for DU?

Erronis is an ancient greek form of the word for wanderer, which is also the root of "err". I think you could take it as someone who doesn't follow the straight line.

Another great word of the same ilk is meander. If you feel so inclined, find out how that word is related to pi (3.14...).

I almost think that the DU annointed think that they can make small eye-grabbing headlines and the crowd will follow more on the authorship than on the published storyline.

A few minutes ago, I saw some pretty awful pictures and that's what I'm really upset about. It's really important.

???

I guess I'm a click-monger. Is there an avatar for that?
