(10,164 posts)The types of additional regulations listed in that meme are the very sort that this gun owner strongly supports. Targeting irresponsible (or outright criminal) behavior is what will make a difference in lives saved.

(4,205 posts)I am an admitted part of the "gun culture" I own guns, I like to target shoot, I haven't hunted for a long time now, it lost its appeal as I did what is sometimes referred to as "grew up" I also believe I may someday have need for one in order to protect myself from wild animals, ( I live in the mountains, I also include the human animal in this) I may be at odds with parts of both sides of the gun argument, I believe we have the rights given us in the second amendment, I also believe we need more restrictive background checks in order to realistically stop as much of the gun violence as we can without taking rights away from law abiding citizens who never harm anyone and take ownership and safety seriously... So yes do more complete and thorough background checks , err on the side of safety for the majority and not give in to a loud vocal minority of ignorant idiots that seem to think they have a right to go around intimidating peaceful law abiding citizens with veiled threats of violence ......

(4,205 posts)I would like to see stricter regs for concealed carry, more training and a more universal requirements state to state...Sometimes a little too easy to get one...
