I admit that I don't watch CNN, unless a disaster breaks out and I check what they have found out about it. I watch MSNBC.
But it's Saturday night, and I'm cleaning up my kitchen, and needed some background blather so I turned to CNN and have been absolutely riveted with how this young beautiful man is running his show.
He was not picked for his age, looks or color. They may have played a role. He was picked for his abilities. He is running this show by interviews providing intuitive and heartfelt conversation in his interviews. It seems based on what seems to be a huge intellect and knowledge of history past and present.
I am going to try to remember now to listen to his show in the future.
He is a Mensch. And that is a huge compliment because being a Mensch is the most well-rounded compliment I know how to give.

(34,648 posts)Sometimes he pisses me off by speaking out for black people even when he doesn't represent our views.
Black people, if you really want to fix the problem, heres just five things that you should think about doing, Lemon continued. He then listed the five things:
hike up your pants
finish school
dont use the n-word
take care of your communities
dont have children out of wedlock.
Most of us do these things. I know I do. It's doesn't help the perception problems that I run up against. He might as well have said, " Don't forget to bleach your skin, too"
I'm tired of him. I used to like him, now I don't.

(60,010 posts)Last I heard of CNN, they were being mocked by Jon Stewart for their catch phrase.."is that a good thing or a bad thing".about every damn subject.
Ohh..just looked him up...do I detect a bit of a resemblance to our illustrious Pres???

(24,096 posts)He engaged with his interviewees really well and just had this personae of a really nice, caring guy.
I liked him a lot.
Sometimes he goes off into strange/Blitzer land tho. I think his bosses make him go off his real personality track to fit whatever scrub brush face Blitz is yammering wrongly about.

(67,107 posts)Sometimes he's good. Sometimes he's awful.
Stephanie Miller refers to him as "ridiculously handsome".
I've watched him for years and that's my perception too. He's like the little girl with the curl - when he's good, he's very very good, but when he's bad he's horrid.

(22,000 posts)He's on here during the day in Korea. There are only a few good reasons to watch CNN anymore. Lemon, Kristie Lu Stout, and Anthony Bourdain.

(20,600 posts)I can't remember the last mainstream tv journalist I was impressed by, in today's world they seem to all be pretty boy or girl lightweights with no substance. The 60 minutes guys are all gone, like Ed Bradley and all them. Dan Rather is another one who had a lot of heft and substance. Another, Ted Koppel. I don't see these types around any more.
