And the Republicans are good at kicking down stuff.
They are intent on kicking down Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act.
But what are they going to replace it with?
What are they going to do about those people with pre-existing conditions? What are they going to do about insurance inflation that seems to double every 5-10 years? What are they going to do about those folks that are going bankrupt because of their hospital bills? What are they going to do about those folks that are being dropped from coverage as soon as they get sick and need it?
Yes, they can rant and rave and talk about how "evil" Obamacare is, but what is their plan? Until they offer some solutions, they are full of shit.

(1,957 posts)They seem so good at talking trash, putting ideas, plans and programs down but where are the ideas? If they are so smart, so with it, so understanding what the people want then when are they going to put these ideas into motion? They haven't had days or weeks to come up with something--they have had years!! Every time someone dares ask them about what their game plan is they will condemn what is but never give an inkling of what they want instead. They will give that famous deer in the headlight stare, change the subject or look for an exit. There was a time when a party who did not like what was going on had notes--hell had a notebook of ideas, of what could be, should be. Today they study exits, go over the same few words they have moaned about for years. "It's no good. It will never work. It's unfair. It's too expensive. " But ask them what they would rather have, why it won't work, why it's too expensive and they head for their grand exit!

(546 posts)Destroying the barn is secondary to destroying the will to build one.
The target is 'government' and that means 'We, The People', acting together in our own best interest.
The Republicans could care less about most of the 'issues' they bemoan, and the ACA is a case in point.
Big Insurance and Big Health Care get a pretty good deal from the ACA, which leaves the basic paradigm for health care in America intact, provides price support for insurance policies and millions of new customers.
I don't think that any Republican truly believes in Death Panels or the idea that the ACA is the biggest disaster in American History or that it represents a government takeover of anything.
It's all about destroying the confidence in Government. Period.
If there is one statistic that Republicans can be happy with it is the approval rating of Congress.
The lower, the better.

(6,151 posts)But I was reading that it really translated to a return to pre-ACA conditions, so it's as full of crap as everything they say and do.
