There was some nice stuff about JFK but when it got to conspiracy issues Kornacki had only guests all in on Oswald other than Robert McNeil who hedged his bets a bit. Steve and the others were quite dismissive of people who think it wasn't the company line. In the end LBJ didn't even believe the "Warren Report" nor did a US House Committee a decade and a half later. Come on Steve, do a little homework.

There is a lot that adds up but just one is - what kind of a lone nut denies vehemently that he did it? And - what kind of lone nut is snuffed right in the police station 2 days later. Please. Pro hitters have a word for people like Oswald and it's "throwaway". Always give them someone to arrest.

Lone nuts are the 2 whack jobs who shot at Ford (missed entirely), and Reagan (not successful and he was an old man). Nobody was missing with JFK, RFK, MLK. Leading liberal voices terminated with extreme prejudice.

...the John Birch Society was big there. And there was a lot of conservative agitation being stirred up by former Gen Edwin Walker, who was fired for passing out JBS pamphlets to personel on base in Germany. This was the same Gen Walker that Oswald tried to kill earlier in the year.
Also, the Texas Dem Party was deeply divided between the liberal faction headed by LBJ and Gov Connelly, and a conservative faction headed by Ralph Yarborough. A main reason Kennedy went to Texas (besides fund-raising) was to heal the rift. However, it appeared to deepen it as the two factions bitterly fought over the details of the trip. Connally prevailed, and he was behind the last minute change in location of the fund-raiser to the Trade Mart, which necessitated the motorcade taking the dog-leg from Main to Elm, as Elm was the route to the Trade Mart. The Trade Mart was selected becaise it was much smaller than the previously scheduled location, and lack of space could be used as an excuse to exclude the conservative faction and their wives (all the pol wives wanted to be seen and photographed with Jackie).

He said there was an eerie, dark feeling about the city. Very much like the feeling you would get in his fictional Derry, Maine. I'm not going to lie, when Obama went to Dallas a few weeks ago, I clammed up.

You gotta be kidding. You can get a sunburn downtown something like 300 days a year.

I have read time and time again, that Dallas was one fucked up place for a "liberal" to be. It was filled with government haters and paranoia. The first thing out of my dad' mouth when he heard Kennedy was killed in Dallas, was that the right wing did it.
