Caribou Barbie thinks that Black people cannot comprehend slavery by her definition

Asshole of the Day, November 13, 2013: Sarah Palin

by GirlGetALife (Follow @GirlGetALife)

Sarah Palin is certainly no stranger to controversy - it seems the woman lives to put her foot in her mouth. Not surprisingly, she’s gone and done it again. First, she compared the national debt to slavery, for which she earned an Asshole of the Day nomination.

African-Americans, along with people who possess common sense and a sense of decency were, understandably, upset with the comparison. An interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper provided Palin with the perfect opportunity to clarify her statements. But Palin couldn’t - or wouldn’t - do so. Instead, she suggested that perhaps black people simply couldn’t comprehend her definition of the word ‘slavery’.

She said:

"I’m sure if we open up the dictionary, we could prove that with semantics that are various, we can prove that there is a definition of slavery that absolutely fits the bill there, when I’m talking about a bankrupt country that will owe somebody something down the line if we don’t change things that is, we will be shackled. We will be enslaved to those who we owe."

Sarah Palin doesn't know shit about slavery. Just like my kid claiming it's child abuse when he is sent to bed without dinner after pouting at the table & claiming he doesn't like steak this week even though he's been eating it since he was 6 mths old, before he had all of his teeth.

He is 11.

It's mean to give students trick questions. To diagram a sentence, don't you first have to have an actual sentence?

"Talking Nonsense
This generally occurs when a person is in the active phase of his illness. It can re-emerge sometimes when medications are too low or stress is too high. What the patient says becomes incomprehensible to those around him either because sentences are unconnected to each other, or else because there seems to be no point to the stories told, or else because topics seem to switch with great frequency. Words may take on special meanings in schizophrenia either because they trigger private associations or because attention is paid to individual sounds rather than hole words. For instance "psychiatry" may sound like "sigh Kaya tree" & the topic may switch suddenly from a discussion of psychiatry to a discussion about mystical trees. Certain words may be avoided because they sound harsh or evil. Sometimes intonations are changed for similar reasons. Sometimes language is used as an incantation to ward off threats. Difficulty making sense to others is a symptom of the acute phase of the illness. It is almost impossible to communicate with patients when they are in this phase & it is very frustrating to family. she's almost right in that we use terms like "wage slavery" all the time (although we probably shouldn't).

The problem with Palin is that not only should she know better than to use inflammatory words in the first place, most normal people know how to explain themselves out of dumbass things like this.

Thank you Mr. McCain for giving us this. You owe the country big time.

It's as if she's described something that she calls a "Buick," but instead gave a description of a Shetland Pony. And when people who know both Shetland Ponies and Buicks tell her that she's wrong, she counters with her belief that it's those people who don't understand the difference.

It's pretty much the epitome of delusional thinking that she's working with there.

There are many ways to describe what she was talking about.

I believe that the 99% have been sold into indentured servitude by the 1%. This may in fact be considered a modern form of "slavery". And, if the indentured try to stand up against the oppression, I do believe that the 1% will use tactics that may have been used in "old form" slavery experienced by ancestors of African Americans.

Her response is still repulsive, but the original statement still has some validity imo.

That was a response I read once in reaction to some other dolt like Palin trying to tell everyone how slavery really was and what it was really like.
