http://www.poynter.org/latest-news/mediawire/230199/katu-reporter-wants-to-know-if-it-bothers-anyone-that-the-president-watched-basketball-sunday/President Obama attended the University of Maryland-Oregon State University basketball game Sunday, and KATU-TV anchor Anna Canzano asked viewers on Facebook: Hi, its Anna Canzano KATU. Does it bug you to see President Obama taking in college hoops with his family today (even if he was watching the OSU) ?
... No. what does bug me is a news station baiting for angry comments, said one commenter. As the Chair of the Multnomah County Republican Party, this doesnt bug me at all, wrote another.

Anna, your answer as a news reporter was even worse than your comment. Sorry KATU, 25 years of watching you is now gone. I don't want to know your political views and I want you to report the news and let me decide. Gonna watch KOIN or KGW now.
Wow. The doe eyed "I was just wondering how people would react" defense shows just how disingenuous you are. You are clearly looking to stir up something where it has absolutely nothing to do with the issues at hand. You are following in the footsteps of the fear and hate mongering media. Grow up.
Baiting questions bother me. This post bothers me. Regardless of anyone's opinion of the president he has a right to enjoy family time just like everyone else. I will stick with KGW's Facebook page from now on. I want not part in ignorant drama.
KATU was recently purchased by Sinclair:

As the Sinclair Broadcast Group continues its rousing nationwide expansion, it has cut at least 27 positions at its recent Northwest acquisitions, KATU in Portland and KOMO in Seattle, according to numerous media sources.

(23,156 posts)3. Personally, I'm not a fan of any sports,
so I suppose I could be pissy about our only President watching college basketball. But then, if I were President I'd be spending the afternoon listening to something on the radio and embroidering.
What anyone chooses to do in their spare time is their business, just so long as it's not illegal or in some way hurting someone else.

Can we get some and pump it into Congress?

...and doing nothing about it.
I don't recall any media "reporters" conflicted by this.
