The real reason for Iran hatred?

I saw that Congress wants to put more sanctions on Iran, and that Obama is fighting against that. We're told the hatred is over a nuclear-technology issue. But is that the real story?

From Wikipedia:

Growing cannabis is legal if planted for food purposes as the seeds are eaten by the Iranian people, and companies often draw oil from the seeds which is sold legally.[57][unreliable source?] Use of cannabis remains relatively low, at about 2 percent.[58]

That text is in the table row for Iran, scroll down to find it. According to that page, which is probably out of date, and as I interpret it, Iran is the only country where cannabis is regulated and legal.

Cannabis is not legal in the Netherlands, its decriminalized, at least according to the cite.

Each country seems to be at war with the portion of its own people that desire to eat hemp seeds as food. Gruel.

5. Boy this is a simple issue - i thought it was a lot of different reasons

but it turns out it's just hemp. Or possibly oil.

Thank goodness - the thought of this issue being all complicated and having a lot of different causess makes my head hurt.
