I've always wondered how DUers treat the DURect feature on DU3. So, if you want to vote in this poll, we can get an idea of how people think about this feature. If you think this poll is intrusive or something, you can simply not bother to vote in it.

2. I believe the OP is important enough to influence more exposure and debate.
Thanks for the thread, MineralMan.

(21,020 posts)I never DU rec posts, and I'm starting to reconsider participating in polls as well, ever since reading what someone in another poll thread had to say about knowing peoples' characters by how they voted on the polls.
Which is one reason why, if I do participate in a poll, I tend to vote without actually choosing a side. I figure if I'm going to be judged as a person for what I post on an internet discussion group, I might as well make those who would judge me actually do a bit of work.
Reading my words, I mean, and not just deciding who I am and what I stand for based on a click of my mouse.
That whole judging people by recs or poll choices is kind of creepy anyway...
IMO.
I judge people by how they treat me.

(585 posts)When I first got here, I would rec posts that I thought were worth discussing. It wasn't meant as an endorsement of anything in the post. It didn't mean I agreed with the OP or the source, just that I thought it could be the basis for a good discussion. Then I started noticing people being criticized for their rec histories, and I went back and un-recced everything. I haven't used the rec button since late July or early August. The feature isn't useful if it's going to be used to attack people.
