It may have started out that way. But now, I think they hate us, too. They show no respect for their constituents, meaning the citizens of this country.

Maybe they hate US, because we like the President. Maybe they don't want us to have anything, so that they can have more. Maybe they are just fully owned parrots for the large corporations. I really think it's the latter.

but I think some of it is catering to the racists in their base. A lot of it is the fact that republicans are just piss-poor losers. If they can't win, they don't want to play. This is an accelerated continuation of the crap they pulled in the Clinton years. How dare anyone beat them!!! Especially if the person who beat them is younger, better looking, and cooler than them.

Sure wouldn't want to play chess or Scrabble with them.

They do envy this President's popularity. Same with Kennedy, Clinton, and Obama. They know that all their money is no match for the power of public opinion. And I also think that President Obama is a master at realizing the value of public opinion. It was no mistake that they mocked his "community organizer" credentials. They were afraid of it.

Jealousy is an ugly characteristic, because many bad emotions swirl all around it.

Now, like then, they'll do everything they can to tear the cool ones down. They even tried to create their own "cool guy" by electing Reagan and building a myth around him, so they could say for decades that they had a cool guy too! Unlike Democrats, they built him up to god-like proportions, attributing everything good and miraculous to their charismatic leader (matters not whether it is true of course).

Sadly, they were never able duplicate that experience, so decades later, they're still calling upon his memory!

I'd shoot myself if I thought scum such as that liked me.

They hate us because we're different from them and because we're taking their power away at some point, sooner or later. It IS racism; obviously they hate African Americans, but they hate the white people with them too. I've been told to my face that I'm a race traitor and "definitely one of the first people we're coming after". The main reason they haven't yet is because they know I'd take more than a few of them with me, and they're cowards on top of being bullies. Imagine hating/fearing a little old lady hardly 5 feet tall!

They have majority Republican Judges in almost all Courts of Appeals, including the very important D.C. court of Appeals. The concern is Obama can tip the balance on many if allowed to fill the appointments. They want to continue stripping our rights in favor of Big Business. Obama has been appointing corporate leaning Democrats anyway, but still not usually as bad as the hard liners Republican Presidents like W. Were appointing.

43. According to Norm Ornstein at AEI, McConnell wanted the nuclear option triggered
Thu Nov 21, 2013, 08:17 PM
Nov 2013

Tom Mann and Norm Ornstein are two of my favorite authors and really now about the partisanship in Washington. According to Ornstein, McConnell forced Harry Reid's hand on the nuclear option http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/norm-ornstein-republicans-forced-reid-s-hand-on-the-nuclear-option

Norm Ornstein, a congressional scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, told TPM that Republicans forced Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to "go nuclear" after his Democratic majority took the historic step Thursday and ended the filibuster for executive nominees and non-Supreme Court judicial nominees.

"For whatever reason, the Republicans decided to go nuclear first, with this utterly unnecessary violation of their own agreement and open decision to block the president from filling vacancies for his entire term, no matter how well qualified the nominees," Ornstein told TPM in an email. "It was a set of actions begging for a return nuclear response."

He also speculated that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) secretly wanted Democrats to go nuclear so he could use the same tactic to end the filibuster entirely if and when Republicans take the majority.

"McConnell's threat, it seems to me, makes clear the strategy: let Dems take the first step, and we will then bear no blame when we entirely blow up the Senate's rules after we take all the reins of power," he said. "That other Republicans like Corker, McCain, Alexander, Murkowski and so on, went along, shows how much the radicals and anti-institutionalists now dominate the Republican Party. Which is sad indeed."

I agree that the GOP forced Harry Reid to use the nuclear option and I doubt that the GOP will respect Senate history or rules if they are in control of the Senate

Yet I believe that for some godforsaken reason Reid finally got it right - this is not a worry for the current Democrats because the current GOP is imploding and will have a very different form if they ever get the chance to make such decisions again. Nothing points towards these turds being in power to invoke any rules anytime soon.
