home, home, California, home...my son called me today and said, "i just wondered if you could help me sign us up for health insurance while you're here?" note: 3 kids, 6 to 17 years old, wife, husband, no insurance for at least a year or two now. he's self-employed.
hell YES i will. my 30-year-old son, too - i told him i'd pay for his insurance as long as he gets on obamacare. they get to use the state portal right? so it won't be painful at all for us to do this.
i'm so excited.

(151,562 posts)Thanksgiving and Christmas. My 89-year-old parents need a visit, and I'll get to see my sister and brother, too, who live in the same town as my folks. I'm going then because flights are so much cheaper at that time. I just can't afford the holiday fares.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
