I would love it if a JFK Conspiracy were revealed.

I keep reading posts claiming that people who believe the Warren Commission are afraid and just want to believe what the government tells them so they can sleep at night. Nothing could be farther from the truth. If it were up to me, it would have all played out like the Oliver Stone movie. And I can't be the only conspiracy skeptic that feels this way.

A conspiracy would be so much more satisfying than a lone gunman in so many ways. First off, how cool would it be!? Spy thrillers are my favorite movie genre. What would be cooler than if a bunch of real-life Jason Bournes went around planting fingerprints and swapping out bullets and faking rifle order forms!?

Also, it would validate the worldview that Kennedy was killed because the powers that be wouldn't allow him to end the Vietnam war or whatever else they were upset about. Who among us doesn't want to believe in a big evil military industrial complex pulling the strings?

The only problem with all this is evidence. If we just accept whatever conspiracy theory is most satisfying, and ignore the evidence, that ruins the whole thing. I want there to be a conspiracy, but I want to actually be true, because fake conspiracies are worthless. Suddenly we're believing in ESP and Time Travel and the Loch Ness Monster. And in this case, there is no evidence supporting a conspiracy.

Which is too bad. Because it would sure be great if there were. But there isn't.

since it would verify all my opinions on the bad guys who have been involved in our government.
I used to believe there was a conspiracy RE:JFK mostly because of my cynicism about our government.
However, like 99% of conspiracy theorists, I had never read a book that didn't disparage the Warren Commission.
When I read a book sourced COMPLETELY from the WCR, I realized I had been hoodwinked by all the authors out to make a buck on JFK's corpse.
Not only did they leave out pertinent facts that pointed to Oswald, many of them just made shit up...kind of like many do here in there defense of whatever theory they subscribe to.

50 years later, ALL of the evidence points to one man and one man only.
