A friend I was visting a few years back had it on his office wall, and I got a Xerox. It's been on my office wall ever since.

(11,441 posts)I haven't been back in ages, but last time I was, parts were REALLY run down. Very sad.

(25,938 posts)At one time, over 6,000 people had jobs at the steel mill where I worked. Slightly over 100 people lost their jobs last year when the facility closed forever.

My grandparents had homes like that: one set a baker and secretary, the other an electrician and SAHM. American cars in the driveway, kids sent to college debt free, and vacations at the shore, with occasional weekend getaways. And I NEVER heard complaints about healthcare costs. NEVER.
This country has really gotten off track.

(11,441 posts)the DC 'burbs where I grew up. Solidly middle class, and just about every neighborhood had community pools and tennis courts. We'd ride our bikes and hang out ALL DAY. When we got old enough, we worked as lifeguards or at the snack bar, or as "day nannies" to younger kids in the 'hood. Life was good.
