Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker contends Reagan fight with labor helped end Cold War

WASHINGTON — Gov. Scott Walker, capping off a weeklong media blitz, held forth Friday on topics ranging from federal immigration reform to Senate filibusters, further stoking rumors he is considering a run for president in 2016.

When asked what foreign-policy experience he would bring to the presidential ticket, Walker signaled that he has a toughness that he believes is absent from the White House on areas such as Syria and Iran.

He brought up his refusal to back down in battles with public sector unions and compared it to Ronald Reagan’s hard-as-nails approach with unionized air traffic controllers in 1981. Reagan fired the controllers rather than give in to their demands for ending a strike.

Walker said he told the Reagan story to his cabinet when girding for the fight to curtail collective bargaining rights in Wisconsin.

Regardless of his base, he has about as much chance at being President as O'Malley, my Governor. O'Malley is good, but a bit boring as is Walker.

Walker has an almost zero chance of being the nominee let alone being elected. Right now the media is keeping him afloat, but peoples fascination will wane when they realize there is nothing in his suit.

He has no foreign policy experience. What was he going to say?

He evoked Reagan and bashed labor. That should play just fine with the base he hopes will nominate him.

Elizabeth Warren will also have to answer that question at some point (if she decides to run). I wonder what her answer will be. It will be better than Scott's, I assume.

It's like these clowns have 2 wheels that they spin. On one wheel is every action of one of their heroes, and on the other wheel is every delusion they have their heroes can accomplish. Such as:

Wheel #1
Ronald Reagan saying "tear down this wall"

Wheel #2
Kept the sun from exploding

Wheel #1
George Bush saying "you're with us or against us"

Wheel #2
Saved the world from an alien invasion
