New Jersey's New Internet Gambling Era Has A Lot Of People Very Excited

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Some were locked out by software that didn't believe they were in New Jersey. Others had their credit cards rejected, their Social Security numbers questioned and their utility bills requested.

But despite the initial glitches as New Jersey's Internet gambling era got underway last week, many gamblers say they're optimistic the kinks will get worked out and the fledgling industry will take off as online gambling gets opened up to the entire state as soon as Tuesday.

"I'll definitely be back; it was awesome," said Chris Choy of East Brunswick, who registered at the World Series Of Poker site, one of five run by Caesars Atlantic City and the site that got the most positive reviews on opening night of the five-day trial period. "I was approved within 45 minutes and got $1,000 in there with no problems. It was pretty smooth sailing."

He would end up $99 ahead at the end of the night.

check it out. My parents were so upset with what happened to their old AC, the boardwalk, etc. they just wanted to go home...LOL. My husband walked into what was then Trump, walked up to a table an played once or twice, won, and took us all out to dinner. I think it's great but glad I don't live there, I would be there at least three times a week..

3. I'm not sure why the NJ govt thinks this will help AC

I kind of removes the reason for going to AC. Attempts to develop AC into a "destination resort" are doomed to failure. There is no there, there.

Both Rs and Ds in Trenton have backed attempting to keep AC alive. Meanwhile they won't allow gaming at Monmouth Park, Meadowlands or elsewhere in the state.

Making Monmouth Park a racino would help it better compete with tracks in PA.
