His lasting legacy may well be reform relative to discrimination against the LGBT community. The work to reform Don't Ask Don't Tell and the Defense of Marriage Act through legislation and legal advocacy could be what our children read about in the history books.

But, we need to make another list. One listing all of Bush's failures, and end the list asking why the Republicans didn't think that was a "failed Presidency!"

I mean, seriously, Richard Milhouse Nixon should have been as bad as it got for that party.

Then came Reagan.

Then Newt.

Then Junior.

And a gaggle of goofs and morons who are taking over leadership in that party since Junior stumbled out of the White House to appear at hardware store grand openings or whatever it is he is doing these days.

That party lost its way decades ago. If not for their pro-greed/pro-hate platform, they'd be down to a couple dozen people.

Then there's the National Parks thingy.

Probably a few other things, but since Teddy split the party, I don't know of anything really positive they've done.

but the last Republican president who did anything positive was Richard Nixon, who signed the Clean Air, Clean Water and Occupational Safety and Health Acts.

As corrupt as Nixon was, he did more good for this country than the four Republican presidents who followed him. Those guys were just corrupt with no redeeming features whatsoever.

I am sick to death of them...

As predicted on DU last night, their heads were exploding today...

Most used statement in my FB feed......

"Obama and Kerry did this to distract from the failed ACA"...

Who could have guessed... Their screaming, and rinse repeat cycle

never ends.. Hope we have something about every 3 to 7 days

for them to choke on from now on.

Haven't voted for a Repub pres since Nixon. Don't believe I've voted for any Repubs at any other level since then, either.

Yeah, it's been that long. I guess I refuse to vote for someone who's stated purpose is to destroy the government he is being elected to serve in.

Those who are tired of teabaggers running amok in their party and are voting with DEMs to get the work done.

I like those Republicans.

those democratic congresscritters that are now threatening to leave Obama high and dry if he doesn't ensure that the healthcare.gov site isn't up and running by 12/01/13.

They need to learn how to look at what the president has accomplished instead of not. I'm fed up with their behinds too.

The GOtP can't help if their dumaz's are missing a gene.

children are going hungry and have to attend schools with huge numbers in each classroom. Or when a pension fund is raided by the right, leaving the retired workers in poverty.

I could never understand the humor in that. Unless one is in the 1%, I suppose....

They swallow the hatred, the distortions and out right lies, blinded by their own prejudice to even comprehend they are nothing more the useful fools. I stop in a working class bar for a beer and you can not help from overhearing, even those who are out of a job, calling Obama the "N-word" and blaming the Democrats for their sorry state. I have long lost any compassion for these jerks that can't grasp the fact that they have cooperated with their own destruction. It seems that their own desperate state of affairs only further blinds them to the reality of their situation. The last decent Republican was Eisenhower. When they laid him to rest, they buried the last respectful Republican politician. Each successive generation of Republican politicians has become worst than the last.

back during the 2008 campaign. There was this collective GOP hissyfit being thrown over one little isolated case where then-candidate Obama had been seen without a flag lapel pin. And this woman - SHEESH-on-a-Shingle!!! She sat there describing her disgust over this. She was in her 60s, had recently been laid off, had no financial support, no savings, and no health insurance. But by God she wasn't going to vote for ANYBODY who wasn't wearing a flag pin!

He often talked about two things, being union and how he hated Re-Pugs. Hell he hated Dicky Whimp and Ronnie and even Knowland who had the Oakland Tribune until he took a gun and killed himself. he enjoyed that.

I am 65 now and feel the same way as he did.

I've been tired of them since JFK debated Nixon. I'm especially tired of the ones in my state who are all dumber than a box of rocks and wouldn't know what their own interests were if you drilled a hole in their heads and poured in that information for them. One issue voters. Or maybe, two.
