Yale University urged to shelter in place


NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

The Yale University community has been ordered to shelter in place after getting a confirmed report of a man with a gun on campus Monday morning.

The alert, posted to the Yale University Emergency Management website, said this was not a test, and said anyone on campus should remain where they are until getting more information from emergency officials.

Police said they received an anonymous call from a phone booth in the 300 block of Columbus Avenue between Howard Avenue and Hallock Street reporting the sighting.

No other information was available.
