"Game of Thrones" star plans to quit acting, go into charity work.

Jack Gleeson, the 21-year-old star of "Game Of Thrones," is (pretty much) done acting. Gleeson, who plays King Joffrey on "Game Of Thrones," told The Independent he is likely leaving the glitz and glamor of being an actor behind to focus on charity work.

"It was always a recreation beforehand, but when I started doing 'Game of Thrones' perhaps the reality was made too real for me," Gleeson said in an interview with the Independent. "The lifestyle that comes with being an actor in a successful TV show isn't something I gravitate towards."

Gleeson recently returned from a trip to Haiti with aid agency GOAL. It was working with GOAL and attending Trinity that caused the actor to look at his life choices.

"Since going to Trinity and garnering an interest in philosophy and with GOAL and my theater company I've kind of just re-evaluated what I want to do," he said. "I'm 21, so it's hard to decide what kind of course life will take."

I mean damn, that should have been noted in the contract. "Be warned; your role as Joffrey Baratheon will result in you never, ever having a meaningful human relationship with anyone who has ever watched this show."

And he does the role perfectly, which just makes it worse for the poor guy.

and he is one of the best. I suspect we will be seeing him in the future no matter what he says. Good that his personality is 180 out from his character.

And it's amazing how Kit Harington's complete and utter inability to act at all works so well with how completely bland and uninteresting Jon Snow is.

I dislike Jon Snow greatly. And am annoyed that he's certain to live through the whole "gaining three dozen new assholes" thing...

and so adorable looking too.

We used to call our doggie's poops in the yard 'Joffreys' there for a while in the thick of watching that series.

She's not immediately recognizable without the wig, and her personality is completely the opposite of Cersei's. She says that more than once, she's been happily talking to someone, only to have them visibly recoil when they recognize who she is. You'd think that people get that actors are just acting but maybe really good villains just touch something deeply primal and irrational in us.

Where she played the eponymous role.

It was cheesy, but I enjoyed it. Plus Summer Glau as a terminator, hard to go wrong there.

I bought Season One and Two, because I don't have reception for the show, haven't seen Season Three for sale, should I go looking? Has it completed? I keep checking this page looking for more info on "Winds of Winter" http://www.georgerrmartin.com/excerpt-from-the-winds-of-winter/

Kudos to him.

He plays the part of Joffrey Baratheon so well. It's...perfect. Seriously. This is the first time I've ever seen a literary character played perfectly onscreen. After Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, of course.

and for him to be as young as he is too. The most revolting, smarmy character but the guy playing him has blown me away since the first episode he shows up in. He is fantastic.

It's weird who I find myself lusting after on that show. I expected to be fawning over Rob and John Snow. And yes, they're both pretty little things but Tyran Lannester (the evil old father) is super HOT with a capital H. And the knight who watches over Daenyris is a hottie too. And Grey Worm is just the cutest little thing (though he looks about 12). And Khal Drogo was The Man. Sorry, what were we talking about?
